Wooooo. What a battle this has been. I'm going to be transparent: some vegan protein is G R O S S - you hear me? Some can be a chalky-vegetabley-thick mess. So, thankfully, your girl has sacrificed the time, tastebuds, and dollars needed to do the research for you. You're welcome.

Nature's Bounty Complete Protein & Vitamin Shake Mix in Decadent Chocolate

TASTE: * * * * *

DOES IT DISSOLVE?: * * *

PRICE: * * * *

WHERE?: Walgreens, CVS, Target (sometimes)

N O T E S:

Pros: This is vegetarian, and really yummy. It's packed with vitamins and nutrients for hair, skin, and nails. Good price and Walgreens has sales on this pretty regularly. Contains probiotics. Healthy amount of fiber (without being too much!).

Cons: The vegan version is GROSS. The vanilla is not especially in comparison to the chocolate. Biotin makes me break out and this product is loaded with it. If it doesn't have that affect on you-have at it!

General: Woman's supplement.

VEGA Protein & Greens in Vanilla

TASTE: * (fix it, Lord)

DOES IT DISSOLVE?: couldn't tell you. It's been a long time lolllll.

PRICE: * *

WHERE?: Walgreens, CVS, Target (sometimes)

N O T E S:

Pros: Good ingredients-it's packed with tons of vegetables (although I'm confused because it doesn't really reflect this in the nutritional label...?) Low carb.

Cons: Low Vitamin A, C, and D. Low in calcium. Low in fiber. A bit more expensive than most.

General: Men and women's supplement. Skip this one.

ripple Nutrition in Chocolate

TASTE: * * * *

DOES IT DISSOLVE?: * *

PRICE: * *

WHERE?: Target

N O T E S:

Pros: Really good taste. Iron rich. Low fat. Low carb. Low sugar, so I don't feel bad adding in a bit of frozen banana.

Cons: More sodium than most powders-which, arguably, is why the taste is good. When I tell you this is a tough one to dissolve. I scrapped the sides of my blender for quite some time. But, I really love the taste and ingredients so I fight through. Basically no fat consider adding your own. Low in Vitamin D and calcium-again, consider adding your own. Low in fiber. Low in vitamin C. A bit on the expensive side...and goes pretty quickly because the whole canister is not full of product.

General: Men and women's supplement.

Orgain Organic Protein & Superfoods Plant Based Protein Powder in Vanilla Bean

TASTE: * * *

DOES IT DISSOLVE?: * * * * *

PRICE: * * * * *

WHERE?: Costco (best option), Walmart, Target

N O T E S:

Pros: Wow-50 Organic "superfoods" was not a lie-I loved the ingredients! Great price (less money per oz.) when I got the big bottle from Costco. 1 billion probiotics per serving, sheesh! Dissolved amazingly.

Cons: Tastes a bit artificial and "vegetabley" if that's a thing. It's not as bad as other one's I've tried but it'll be an adjustment if you're new to plant-proteins. Even though this did not have nuts in it, my allergies still flared up a bit (probably because of cross-contamination from the machines).

General: Men and women's supplement. Don't go overboard with the two scoop serving sizes if you don't mind skimping out on protein. Because of the taste I'm going to do just one scoop and add in a plant milk to get the rest of the protein.

Natureade Pea Protein in Vanilla

TASTE: * * * *

DOES IT DISSOLVE?: * * * *

PRICE: * * * *

WHERE?: The company webpage or Nature's Oasis (Shaker Heights)

Pros: Really good taste (only thing is it's a bit artificial-tasting if you add too much, but with berries it's a dream). B L A C K- O W N E D you hear me! I had no idea until writing this review. Soy, dairy, and gluten free. Low fat, lots of potassium, little bit of fiber, low sugar...which translates into overall low carbohydrate (I'm here for that). Dissolves well-especially if using my tip (see above)!

Cons: A bit high on the sodium side, so just monitor your intake for the remainder of the day. Low in vitamins and minerals so just add your own (using the ingredients listed above) or take a multivitamin if using this as a meal replacement.

General: Men and women's supplement. Moderate in calories per serving (140 for two scoops), which is fine, just depends on your weight loss or weight gain goals if you choose to add in more ingredients to your shake. If you're a Cleveland-native, I purchase these at the Nature's Oasis in Shaker Heights. However, if they run out because I'm sharing this information we will have problems...
